Morfa Nefyn has a general stores as well as a fish and chip shop, whilst there are more shops and services, including a bank in the neighbouring town of Nefyn.
From Aberdaron you can catch a boat across to Ynys Enlli/Bardsey Island,
said to be the burial place of 20,000 saints that made the long pilgrimage
there in times gone by.
The mighty hills of Yr Eifl form the highest point on the peninsula and hidden beyond them is Nant Gwrtheyrn, a former mining village which is now the Welsh Language and Heritage Centre and provides Welsh courses for adults.
Around a quarter of the peninsula's landmass is a designated Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and recently a new path has been opened
along the coastline, also taking in many of the peninsula's hills - well
worth the effort!
A little further afield is the royal town of Caernarfon with it's world famous castle, backed by the magnificent Snowdonia mountain range. Llanberis, at the foot of Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon is well worth a visit, as are Beddgelert and Betws-y-Coed. However, you'll always be glad to return to Llŷn, as many visitors are when they come back year after year. The character of the place is truly unique - and we're waiting to see you! More information about the Llŷn Peninsula can be found at www.llyn.info
We look forward to welcoming you to Y Bryncynan soon! |
