Boxed Lamb:
Hebridean lamb is highly sought after meat, gracing the tables of the Worlds restaurants The Hebridean is a slow maturing breed and are normally kept for around 12 months until ready for slaughter at around 10-14kgDW. They are reared and grazed on traditional and rough pasture.

Torwen lamb is also slow to mature when comparing to the commercial lambs of these days, and it results in a lean but very flavoursome meat with a covering of yellow fat. The Torwens are grazed on semi improved herb rich pastures which produces lamb of exceptional taste and quality. Finished off grass they are ready for slaughter from August onwards around 14 – 18kg DW. In my personal view, its the best tasting lamb around.

We raise our lambs slowly off grass and do not use any feed additives or growth promoters. We use a small local abbatoir which prepares the carcass to our specific requirements. We can deliver locally and take orders from May onwards however the earlier the better so that we can plan well in advance. Prices vary for both breeds but typically a whole lamb is around £60.

Our lambs are reared in the old fashioned and welfare friendly way however they are not organic. Purchasing your lamb from us enables us to continue farming traditionally and help with conservation grazing, ensuring the survival of rare and traditional breeds and the viability of small rural business. And don't forget you can't haste taste!

We also occasionally sell hebridean fleeces for spinning. These cost £5.00 each for around 2kg plus any postage and packaging. Again we take orders in advance as the main wool clip is normally sold in June - July.
