AIM
To work towards a sustainable future for our community and our economy.
OBJECTIVES
To inform, educate and assist our community to achieve sustainability individually and collectively. To minimise waste and promote the 3 Rs reduce, reuse, recycle. To reduce pollution and its contribution to climate chaos. To improve the local ecology and promote biodiversity.
ACTIVITIES
SAC has a wide range of interests, activities and projects. In 2008/09 SAC is concentrating on:
> Our local walking project
> Campaign to make the village free of plastic bags
In 2007 the main projects included:
> Grab a Bus - a local village shuttle bus service during the peak tourist season to reduce car use and congestion
> Beach cleaning at Porth Ceiriad
There are also regular campaigns for:
> Harbour and beach cleaning
> Bracken bashing - defending the sand hills from bracken encroachment
