Within walking distance of Villina Lucia the lake cruise boats transport you to places all around Lago Maggiore even into Switzerland to the north. It is only a 10 minute walk to the lakeside promenade in Angera, with many excellent bars and restaurants. Lago Maggiore's history is dominated by the Borromeo Family, with their islands, villas and gardens, castles and monuments providing visitors with plenty of interesting places to visit. Lake Como and the town of Bellagio are just over an hour's drive away and the centre of Milan for shopping and sightseeing only an hour by train from Arona with a 10 minute link by ferry to Angera.
